Nasceu em 1966 em Kent no Reino Unido, estudou na Goldsmiths College of Art. Em suas pinturas abstratas derrama tinta sobre uma superfície inclinada e deixa que a gravidade a espalhe. Em 1991 ele foi indicado para o prêmio Turner.
